Future Plans

The next two years

Work began in March on a new building to accommodate a large tailoring room, guest rooms for volunteers and rooms for married staff.   By the end of 2011 the building was ready for the married staff to move in, and for Bhola Garden to welcome volunteers

Once the tailoring building is finished, work will start on a new woodwork and metalwork training facility at Supari Bagan which will also have accommodation for married staff. The existing workshop shack at Bhola Garden can then be demolished.

Meanwhile the boundary wall at Bhola Garden will be moved to include land we have purchased at the rear for use as a playground.

This intensive building programme over two years will bring the capacity of the home and school to a level where it can cater for 80 to 100 children at any one time.

Looking further ahead

We would like to acquire adjacent land at Valumia and build there a community of homes for disabled children who have become adult but still are not able to return to their own family (if they have one) or otherwise fend for themselves. They would work the land at Valumia and sell the produce to Bhola Garden.
